School Performance

AAB has a strong track record in pupil attainment at end of Key Stage 2 assessments and GCSE.

The school continues to perform above the national average for SATs and GCSEs and is featured within the top 10 of high performing schools in Bristol.

We also have pedigree of early entry and high attainment in GCSE including Sciences, Maths and Languages. For example, in 2013/14 100% of our pupils achieved A* to C in French and the following year all entrants to (full) Arabic GCSE achieved the same. Also, Key Stage 3 Science is taught in the first two years to prepare pupils for Key Stage 4 from Year 9 with exemplary results. Achievements in English and Maths have also been admirable, especially over the last few years. Many of our leavers from Y11 go on to successfully study at 6th form colleges such as Redland High School for Girls, Colston Girls and have progressed further to gain places at universities to study medicine and other high net worth degrees.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

In 2014/15, 44% of pupils achieved a good level of development (GLD). This is equivalent to 11 pupils of which 32% were girls and 11% were boys; half of the girls (8 out of 16) achieved a GLD and a third of boys (3 out of 9) achieved a GLD

The results from 2013/14 have not been included as the school did not participate in end of KS2 assessments. Further, the Department for Education changed the focus of SATs in 2013/14 with a greater emphasis on spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG).
