Year 2 Class
Date: 05 January 2016
From an early age I know I wanted to be a teacher but wanted to gain more experience of working in schools first. So after completing a BTEC in Early Childhood Studies, I went on to work as a teaching assistant for 6 year supporting children with special needs in mainstream settings. This experience just drove my desire even more and showed me how amazing school communities are and the excitement you get when you are able to support a child to be more confident and excited about learn.
This led me to complete my PGCE through Bath Spa University with a Specialism in Special needs.
Following this, I have taught in an extensive amount of schools as a supply teacher for a year, working with children from reception to year 6, as well as in a range of special needs schools. Last year, I passed my NQT year last year in a small village school, teaching a mixed year 4 and 5 class, as well as year 6 in the afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and was able to develop my ability to challenge pupils, whilst encouraging independence.
In my spare time, I love to do arts and crafts, walking and travelling. My real passion is baking and I enjoy baking treats ranging from cakes to cookies.
Currently I am teaching Year 2 in Andalusia Academy and am working hard to improve children’s levels.
