School embarks on drive for improvement

Date: 05 January 2015

After a frenzied few weeks of activitiy in term two, Alhamdulillah the school community has responded well to the surveys issued to pupils, staff, parents and carers.

In all, responses were received from:

  • 40 members of staff
  • 115 parents and carers
  • 213 pupils from KS2 to KS4

The surveys were designed to test a range of views on all aspects of the school's provision.  For example, the quality of curriculum provision, how effectively the school tackles bullying and prepares pupils for life post-16, whether the school does enough to improve the moral character of its pupils, how safe the school community feels and so forth.  Results from the survey will feed into two ongoing pieces of work, with any initial data used as a baseline:

  • School improvement and development plan - priority issues from the survey will be used to push things on at school that would make a big difference inshaAllah
  • School self evaluation - how the school fares against the school inspection framework

It is hoped that this work will be repeated on an annual basis inshaAllah and be monitored by the Principal in partnership with the school community.
