New Year 7s put through their paces

Date: 15 September 2015

In a new partnership arrangement, the British Army worked with AAB to help new Year 7 pupils understand the importance of teamwork, commitment and perseverance through a series of challenges and inspirational talks. Held over two different days - 9 and 14 September - at Bristol Grammar School, pupils were tasked to do different individual and team based activities, as well as sample army rations! Representatives from the British Army were also at hand to speak to pupils about life in the army, the roles that they undertake and the importance of taking responsibility.

Imam Ali Omar, Muslim Chaplain to the British Army, also popped down to visit pupils.

Head of Secondary, Mr Hassan, commented "It was fantastic to see the personalities and character of our pupils shine through - their conduct was exemplary. We hope to do more outdoor learning and expand on this to create a healthy team and work ethic at AAB for all pupils."

The school is grateful to the British Army for facilitating this event and for Bristol Grammar School for being such generous hosts.
