Year 4 class
Date: 03 January 2016
Following school, I attended Swansea University, where I studied Criminology and Social Policy for 3 years. I enjoyed the social aspect of the course and decided that I would like to go into charity work to help local homeless people. As a result, I started a role with Barnardo's, which also included time spent in secondary schools. Here, I developed a love of talking to young people and listening to their experiences.
Shortly after, I applied to the University of the West of England to study primary teaching. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have been involved in education for 6 since completing it. I have taught at many outstanding schools and gained experience in over 50 primary and secondary schools.
In my spare time, I love to cycle, watch football and read. My greatest achievements have been cycling the length and width of France and Wales. Alongside completing many other long distance bike rides. Despite finishing my criminology degree almost 10 years ago, I still take a keen interest in social and political issues.
I recently completed reading a book called 'What About Me, in a consumer based society' that looked at the impact of capitalism and the culture it breeds on the younger generations. Currently, I am enjoying teaching Year 4 in Andalusia Academy and am working hard to improve the children's levels.
